John Zarian has a wealth of experience in the litigation, arbitration, and mediation of intellectual property, business, and commercial disputes.
Since 2016, John has been the General Counsel of a national non-profit company focusing on personnel certification. For the previous 27 years, his legal practice emphasized intellectual property litigation, particularly patent litigation, as well as complex business and commercial litigation matters. He is an experienced trial lawyer and, among other things, has been listed in Mountain States Super Lawyers for Intellectual Property Litigation (“Top 100 Lawyers” in the Mountain States region) and recommended by Chambers USA for Commercial Litigation (Band 1) (“the top IP litigator in the intermountain region”).
John is a past President of the Idaho Chapter of the Federal Bar Association. He is a former chair of the Intellectual Property Law Section and the Litigation Section of the Idaho State Bar. In 2010, he received the Idaho State Bar's Outstanding Service Award.
John is admitted to practice law in Idaho, Utah, and California, as well as the District of Columbia.
John earned his law degree from the University of Southern California and holds a Master’s degree in Finance from the University of Utah. He is pursuing a Graduate Certificate in Dispute Resolution from Pepperdine University (Straus Institute). John has taught intellectual property law and alternative dispute resolution courses as an adjunct professor at several law schools.
